Tooth extraction
- Painless procedure due to local or general anaesthesia
- Tooth extraction gentle on surrounding tissues
- Sensitive approach from our doctors
Tooth extraction is the only treatment option in some cases. Don't worry, this is a routine procedure that usually does not require a special treatment regimen. In addition, we only consider extraction in cases where the tooth can no longer be saved. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis and under local anaesthesia.
ALL ABOUT TOOTH EXTRACTION
INDICATIONS
Tooth extraction is necessary when conservative treatment fails or is no longer reasonable. The most common reasons are a loose tooth, fracture or damage from deep tooth decay, periodontitis, injury or orthodontic treatment.
TREATMENT
We first numb the tooth area. Before the injection, we can also treat the injection site with a topical anaesthetic. You won't feel any pain after that. The doctor then releases the tooth and removes it from the gum. Nothing to worry about!
EXTRACTION OF WISDOM TEETH
Wisdom teeth (third molars) are usually removed under local anaesthesia. In rare cases, we may use controlled analgosedation or anaesthesia. If the wisdom tooth is deeply situated, it must be removed surgically.
PAIN AFTER TREATMENT
After the extraction, the effect of local anaesthesia gradually wears off and you may feel slight pain around the wound for several days. If necessary, we recommend taking common painkillers. During healing, you need to take care of the wound and reduce the risk of possible complications.
