Breast reduction
- The most experienced surgeons with a verified minimum number of complications
- The most advanced procedures so you can choose the one that's right for you
- State-of-the-art equipment and postoperative care
In breast reduction surgery, the surgeon adjusts the size and shape of the breasts and even the shape of the nipples and areolas. Breast reduction thus solves a sagging breast shape and asymmetry. Breast reduction and modelling is suitable for women with significant loosening of the breasts, which can occur after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight loss. Breast surgery is also suitable for women whose large breasts hinder their daily activities or sports and contribute to back and shoulder pain.
HOW BREAST REDUCTION IS PERFORMED
CONSULTATION
Your surgeon will discuss all aspects of the breast surgery with you. Together you’ll decide on the location of the surgical incision. Before surgery, you will undergo a preoperative examination.
SURGERY
Breast reduction is performed under general anaesthesia and usually takes around 90 minutes. The surgeon removes the excess skin and gland and moves the areola upwards. Absorbable sutures are used.
RECOVERY
After surgery you will remain overnight in the clinic, followed by a 10–14 day resting regimen at home. You will have regular check-ups. An elastic bra must be worn for six weeks. After six weeks, you can return to sports and normal exercise.
RESULTS
The shape and size of your breasts can be adjusted, but at the cost of permanent scarring. We will explain postoperative scar care, the use of scar plasters and pressure massage techniques. The appearance of scars can be significantly improved with other proper postoperative care, lasers, radiofrequency or biostimulation.
