Thigh lift surgery
- Greatest effect for skin that is permanently loosened
- Suitable in cases of loss of skin elasticity and muscle loss
- State-of-the-art equipment and postoperative care
Thigh plastic surgery surgically removes skin folds and creases in the thigh area caused by sagging skin that can no longer be corrected by liposuction. It is a suitable solution for patients whose skin lacks elasticity, is significantly loosened and has lost its ability to conform to a reduced volume of adipose tissue.
HOW THIGH LIFT SURGERY IS PERFORMED
INDICATIONS
Thigh lift (or thigh plastic surgery) is suitable for patients who cannot undergo liposuction due to loss of skin elasticity. However, younger patients may also have difficulty with loose skin after significant weight loss. Loose skin creates folds and creases in critical areas, which can cause significant problems with both clothing selection and personal hygiene.
SURGERY
Thigh plastic surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. An incision is made from the inguinal crease to the skin crease under the buttocks. Excess skin is removed and, if necessary, the fat layer is reduced using liposuction. Surgical incisions are covered with absorbent bandages and an elastic bandage. The typical duration for a thigh lift is 50–60 minutes.
SCARS AFTER SURGERY
Once stabilized, the scar in the groin will be relatively inconspicuous. If incisions need to be made on the inside of the buttocks, the scar will be more or less visible depending on the type of individual scar healing. The scar will always be noticeable; it must be tolerated as a cost of eliminating the problem.
RECOVERY
The extent of a thigh lift surgery and the expected recovery from it are not overly taxing on a patient. After surgery, we will take care of you in an accredited postoperative care department, typically for one day. During the first few days after surgery, you must follow a resting regimen. The elastic bandage is usually left on for 3–5 days after surgery.
